Microsoft will officially announce the Windows Phone 7 on 11th of October

The much awaited Windows Phone 7 will now be officially announced by Microsoft on 11th of October this year. This official date of launch was announced by the company at the pre announced event which was held in New York City.

The official launch of Windows Phone 7 on 11th of October will take place at the Microsoft Technology Center from 3PM EST onwards. The launch program will include 5 minutes of keynote which will be followed by 20 minutes of presentation regarding the OS of the smartphone and then finally there will be the practical demonstration of the handset for an hour along with queries from the staff.

It is expected by Microsoft that Windows Phone 7 will not only provide great smrtphone experience to the mobile users but will also give tough competition to existing OS of Google and Apple. Thus we will have to wait till the official launch to see the response.

Windows Phone 7 will be unveiled by Microsoft on 11th of October

It has been recently reported that Microsoft will unveil its Windows Phone 7 handsets on 11th of October this year. The launch of the smartphones will be centred in New York and will have satellite events in the rest of the places.

The Windows Phone 7 mobile phones is being launched by Microsoft so as to give competition to the Apple’s iPhone and the Android Handset from Google and to retain its position the in the world of mobile phones.

The marketing support from AT&T will be received by Microsoft and initially AT&T will act as the exclusive US carrier who will sell the Windows Phone 7.  Initially 3 Handset will be made available which will be manufactured by LG, Samsung and HTC.

According to Gartner, the share of Microsoft in the Smartphone OS market has become almost half and has resulted in 5% in Q2 as compared to the year ago and it is being expected that this latest OS will give a boost to the market share of the company.

HTC Mondrian Windows Phone 7

HTC Mondrian is the expected upcoming handset from the company which will be powered by the latest Windows Phone 7 OS and 1.3GHz of Snapdragon processor which will offer good performance and speed to the device.

This upcoming handset is expected to come with 4.3 inches of display having WVGA resolution count of 800 X 480 pixels so as to offer good image viewing experience. To take care of your entertainment quotient, HTC Mondrian will be packed with FM Radio, so that you can enjoy the program of your favorite RJ, no matter wherever you are.

The WiFi adapter in the handset will help to provide wireless connectivity. The 5MP camera in the phone will help the users to capture all their beautiful moments in form of high quality images. The camera is also capable of recording video at 720p.

In order to store all your important data and images, the handset comes loaded with 8GB of non removable storage. The details regarding the other features, specifications, availability and price of HTC Mondrian is not yet revealed.

LG’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 handset- E900

The latest upcoming handset from LG called E900 is considered to be one of the most awaited mobile phone as it will be the first one to get launched on Windows Phone 7. Though the official announcement for the phone is not yet made but it is expected that the phone will run on 1.3 Snapdragon processor.   Wide range of mobile phone these days uses the popular 1GHz CPU and the Snapdragon processor which is used in E900 is considered as the successor to the 1GHz.

There will be a wide 3.7 inches of touch screen in the phone with impressive resolution count and colour support. Light and proximity sensors will also be enabled in the handset. The camera which is expected to come loaded in this handset is of 5MP which will also be capable of recording videos. Other features which will be available in this handset are miniUSB and 3.5mm of headphone jack . The details regarding the other specifications of LG E900 is not yet available.

AT&T will have latest handset LG C900

AT&T which is the second largest wireless carrier in US is expected to launch the latest handset called LG C900 which will be the second of the 3 Windows Phone 7 that will be available on AT&T. The other two models include HTC Schubert and Samsung Cetus.

It is expected that LG C900 will come with wide array of impressive features so as to enhance communication and entertainment experience on the mobile phone. The handset will have a slider full QWERTY keypad which will enable fast and easy typing of messages.

Other features which are expected to come loaded in this handset include touchscreen display, 3G connectivity, WiFi, Microsoft Office, GPS with AGPS, Matte finish body, Bluetooth and miniUSB for data transfers and others. To provide entertainment the handset is also expected to have FM Radio along with audio and video players.

The details regarding the other features, price and availability of this handset is not yet know.

New Push into Mobile phone OS to be made by Microsoft

Microsoft is developing operating systems for mobile phones for more than a decade but they are not a big hit among the users. According to the research made by NPD Group, in the first quarter of this year, Microsoft had only 10% of the smart phone market and it lagged behind Research In Motion, Android and iOS. The share of the Microsoft is not only small but it is also decreasing as in the year 2008 it has a smart phone market of 30%.

In order to improve its market share, Microsoft will introduce its all new OS for the mobile devices in the fall and it will known as Windows Phone 7. This latest OS will make use of the 2 most successful ventures, the Office suite of programs and the Xbox 360 video game system.

A Microsoft executive, Brandon Watson who is overseeing the development of the system stated that this is the hard reset of our entire OS. He further stated that “In a lot of ways we are the new kid on the smart-phone block, because Windows Phone 7 is just that much different, a complete departure, from what we were doing before.”

ZTE is planning to launch the Windows Phone 7

In spite of not having a big presence in the US, Chinese handset manufacturer ZTE is planning to launch the Windows Phone 7. In global market of mobile manufacturers ZTE is considered to be a big contender as it’s currently the 7th largest OEM by volume and closing in on the gap between Motorola and Sony Ericsson. They’ve recently made a undertaking to be on board with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7, but their road map of devices are not popular enough.

ZTE’s vice president of handset product system business, Zhang Xiaohong, said that “we will work according to Microsoft’s agenda to release our products.” Furthermore, she went on to say, “We will continue to release devices under operator-brands in Europe, and will increase the number of products on which we share some branding. Own-branded devices will come further down the line.” Naturally their center of attention is the European market at present, they will continue their booming trend in the market in future also.

Windows Phone 7 emulator now available

For those of you who are dying to know how it feels to own a Windows Phone 7 and wanting to use it, Microsoft has recently launched the Windows Phone 7 emulator that lets you feel the new Windows phone operating system straight from the convenience of your laptop or a desktop PC.

Intended for testing and debugging the operating system, this bin file offers only the OS environment that is encompassed in the dev kit. Very soon after the emulator launched, a leaked image of the unlock OS made some waves in gadget market, however Microsoft is not worried claiming that the development was still in a very premature stage and that the end product would be nowhere near to what it looks like right now. Even though it’s quite early to judge this OS considering its early stage, user can get an idea of what the final product may look like.

Word, Excel and OneNote for Windows Phone 7 Series revealed

It seems like that Microsoft is aiming to make their new Windows 7 series phones, the first choice of office people along with students. There is no official note from Microsoft but few experts have somehow managed to take a glimpse at the new office applications in Windows 7 series. Most commonly used and very much needed Word, Excel and OneNote are now available in this gadget.

While looking at its compatibility with smartphones, the company hasn’t changed the familiar user interface of these applications. The new version of the applications looks really useful so we can expect higher from the later versions of the same. Microsoft, however, didn’t forget to mention that these applications are only for small editing purpose and big tasks like copy-paste are little bit tougher to carry out in it. Netflix and Microsoft partnership to instantly stream videos.

Microsoft has made an announcement at MIX 2010 that its Windows Phone 7 will have a Netflix application which will be complete with Watch Instantly. The Watch Instantly on Mac/PC is powered by Silverlight and the same thing will also fuel the Windows Phone 7 Applications.
