Micromax C2i Review
July 14, 2010
The Micromax C2i is a low cost and effective offering from Micromax. With conference call facility and a FM radio it becomes a basic phone. However when you get to know that the phone also provides a 2 GBG expandable memory slot you are likely to be amazed. It means quite a lot of music and especially when you are dealing with downloadable MP3’s. But hold on…there are more surprises. The phone has a standby backup of 30 days (a month!) and upto 10 hours of incredible talktime. The battery is of the Li-ion 1800 mAh type.
The dimensions of the phone are 105.3×45.4×16.3 mm and weighs 87 gm in the pockets. It’s not so heavy afterall as is the price. With a resolution of 640 x 480, the phone can capture VGA pictures. Play music as it is capable of Audio playback.
There are several phones in this price range. Sony’s K300i is in the same price range and has a VGA camera. But where the Micromax C2i wins is the memory and battery life. Sony’s battery life is pathetic not to day of the mere 8 MB internal memory that the K300i offers. Nokia has got a whole range of phones but nothing which can give you a 30 days battery backup.
While the VGA camera is not something to harp upon, the memory and the MP3 playback facility is a good addition. Along with the FM radio and the great battery backup you are able to remain tuned all the time.
