LG Mobiles has recently made an addition to its existing Cookie range with the launch its latest handset called Cookie Zip. Cookie Zip which is also known as LG510 is a CDMA handset which is considered to be an impressive entertainment device.

One of the most amazing features of the handset is its EVDO connectivity that allows data transfer speed of up to 3.1 MBPS.

The intuitive Flash User Interface along with 7.6 cm of WVGA full touch screen with 240 X 400 pixel resolution offers excellent browsing experience to the users. The Business head of mobile communication LGEIL, Sudhin Mathur recently stated that LG Electronics Private Limited is expecting that its youth centric mobile phones will contribute 20% to the value turnover of the company this year which when translated comes to an amount of Rs.600 crore.

Two new handsets are launched by the company today which includes LG Cookie Fresh and LG Cookie Plus. These latest handsets come loaded with one touch social networking which is powered by an SNS widget on the homescreen and 3G technologies. The phones will be available at a price tag of Rs.6,199 and 7,990 respectively.

Mathur also stated that ““We are targeting youth between the age group of 18 and 25 years for this new range, which is expected to contribute 20 per cent from this category of phones.” At present the estimated market size of GSM is 100 million units and out of this LG enjoys 9% share and the company expects to increase it up to 15% by this year.

As per the reports LG is all set to introduce its new handset called LG GX500 which is a dual SIM handset including wide array of other features as well. This upcoming phone has physical dimensions of 108. 9 X 53.4 X 13mm with weight of only 94 g.

This cell phone is said to boast a wide 3 inches of WQVGA TFT touchscreen display with 256K colors. The screen also has accelerometer sensor that facilitates auto rotate function.

Not much is known about the memory of the phone but it is expected to have MicroSD card slot that can support up to 16GB of memory. Other additional features of this phone include USB for data transfer, WLAN, Bluetooth, GPRS, HTML browser, radio, Java support, Email, WAP and  EDGE.

The 3.15 MP camera of the phone will be capable of capturing high quality images having pixel resolution of 2048 X 1536. Additional camera features include auto focus and video recording. No information regarding the release date and price of LG GX500 is available as yet.
