Ovi Maps gets slightly updated and brings along new positioning
March 23, 2010
If you have recently browsed to the Ovi map beta page, you would know that there is a new version of the maps available for download and is claimed to improve stability while navigation and get rid of certain difficulties faced during the installation. However, the biggest update is the availability of the GPS positioning that will indicate your current position.
The first locator which is also available in similar other such applications provides a red dot specifying the area that you are at. It provides a GPS and a Wi-Fi position of your current location. The second one, on the other hand, is a transparent concentric circle surrounding the red dot approximates your location span. A third grey dot specifies your last known location in case you experience a signal loss. Even though these are some common features, it is noteworthy to see Ovi Maps coming up with various updates to improve user experience.
