Asus and Garmin dissolve ends their partnership for phone

If you were waiting for another latest Garmin-Asus handset then you will be disappointed to hear that both the companies have decided to part their ways as far as manufacturing of mobile phones is considered. Thus with this decision Garmin which is the global leader in satellite navigation and Asus which is a leading IT company will no more launch their co branded mobile phones in future.

After this decision, Asus will still continue to manufacture smartphones whereas Garmin will lay its emphasis on the development of the application and selling their navigation and other applications.

In order to optimize their core competencies and their resources, Garmin and Asus entered into a strategic Alliance in February, 2009. This alliance was termed as cooperation as both the companies made a decision to share the profits as well as expenses of all the 6 devices that they offered together.

Though no new models will be launched by Garmin and Asus but they will still continue to sell the models that have been already launched.

Garmin-Asus Nuvifone M10 Hits Indian Market

Good news for smart phone lovers! The latest navigation-centered device nuvifone M10 that comes from the alliance of Garmin-Asus has come to India with Windows Mobile 6.5.3 out of the box and the phone has been reported to be available across the nation at many stores.

The Garmin-Asusu nuvifone M10 was launched couple of month ago and the world was looking forward to this phone to hit the market, but it first rolled out its phone in the market of India. Garmin Asus is all set to launch its latest Windows Mobile called Nuvifone M10 in Indian markets. Nuvifone M10 is a full touchscreen mobile phone which runs on the latest version of mobile OS from Microsoft- Windows Mobile 6.5.3

There is 3.5 inches of WVGA TFT resistive touchscreen display in this navigation handset.  Other key features of this mobile phone include Qualcomm 7227 600 MHz processor, 5MP camera, Bluetooth 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth, 512 MB RAM,512MB ROM along with Garmin GPS software, java enabled, Wi-Fi and others. Nuvifone M10 also comes preloaded with maps and voice guided software in Hindi as well as in English language.

Due to its Windows Mobile origin the phone features windows based Email, IM, calendar and mobile navigation support. The 1500 mAh Lithium battery of the phone provides talk time of around 8 hours and standby time of 600 hours.
