DoT claims to have find a way to get access to the corporate emails

August 19, 2010

DoT has recently stated that they have got a formula which will help their security agencies to get the access to the corporate emails on Blackberry handsets.

The only issue which remained unsolved between the Blackberry maker RIM and security agencies of India is on the access to the enterprise emails which is used by the corporate and if the claims of finding a solution to this by DoT proves to be correct then there is a hope that the services of Blackberry will not be banned after August 31st which was declared earlier.

The telecom department stated that whenever a corporate email is sent through an enterprise server on a Blackberry device, a copy of the same can also be sent to the monitoring system which will be installed by the ISP’s in the country. DoT however feels that RIM will not agree to their solution of setting up a server in India or setting up the servers at all the ISP premises. This week earlier, it was agreed by RIM that they will provide partial access of its messenger services to the security agencies of the country by 1st September and by the end of the year, complete access for the same will be provided. But no solution was offered by RIM for its services of corporate email.

ICES 2010, AT&T announced it would introduce an HTC Android phone this year. True to its word, it just unveiled the HTC Aria. Similar to the HTC HD Mini in design, the Aria runs on Android 2.1 with HTC’s Sense user interface and includes a good deal of features for its size. It’s certainly not the most powerful Android device on the market–power users might want to wait for the recently announced Samsung Captivate–and we’re upset that AT&T has once again blocked third-party app downloads. However, the Aria is a solid midrange smartphone that’s certainly better than the Motorola Backflip, AT&T’s other Android offering. The HTC Aria costs $129.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. We think it should cost a bit less–$100 would be the sweet spot–but its price isn’t unreasonable.transfer data at high speed.
