3 Minutes Pulse launched by Airtel in Maharashtra

The competition among the mobile phone operators are increasing with time and in order to retain their present subscribers and to attract the new ones, the telecom operators are coming out with new and attractive schemes from time to time. In the same row, Airtel has recently made an announcement about the launch of its latest scheme where all the calls will be charged on the basis of 3 minutes pulse instead of the general 60 seconds of pulse.

This latest scheme will prove to be very beneficial for all those users to need to talk to their loved ones for long time. In order to avail this scheme, the users will have to buy the special voucher which is priced at Rs.22. This voucher will enable the subscribers to make All On net local and STD calls at only Rs.1/3 minutes. The Off Net calls can be made at Rs.1.20/3 minutes. The validity of this special voucher is 30 days and the SMS tariff will remain same as per your existing plan.

Airtel Launches its Special Ganesha Pack

In order to keep up the festive mood of its subscribers, Airtel has recently made an announcement about the launch of its latest Ganesha Pack which will come loaded with various offers and products.

This latest pack will allow the subscribers to enjoy the LIVE Aarti at the Lalbaugcha Raja and the Siddhivinayak. The direct broadcasts of the Ganeshji shows will also be offered through this pack. Other features of the pack includes Ganpati Portal, Ganpati Downloads and Ganesh Predictions.

In order to avail the services the users will have to simply dial on the toll free number 55201 and then listen to the LIVE Aarti of their choice. The call charges will be Rs.2 per day and there will be an entry charge of Rs.5 as well.

The Ganpati Portal will allow the subscribers to enjoy listening to the Ganesh Bhajans of their choice and get information about their deity. The services of Ganpati Portal are available for Rs.2 per day and in order to subscribe the users will have to call 543212604.

Olive and Airtel teams up to launch Olive FrvrOn V-G2300

“One Airtel One North East” roaming facility launched by Airtel for its prepaid subscribers

There is another reason for all the Airtel prepaid subscribers in north east of India to be happy, as Bharti Airtel has recently made an announcement for the launch of its “One Airtel One North East” roaming facility which will be valid in the entire north east of region.

All the subscribers of Airtel in North East area of the country including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Tripura with the help of this latest scheme will be allowed to roam in the region without changing their prepaid SIM card and the facility will be available by default.

As per the guidelines of DoT, the “One Airtel One North East” scheme will be valid up to January, 2011.

200 towns and 18000 villages will be covered under this scheme and the outgoing calls rates will be Rs.1 /min for the local calls, Rs.1.50/min for the STD calls and Rs.1/min for the incoming calls.

New Weekly and Monthly prepaid plans launched by Airtel for Blackberry customers

Bharti Airtel has recently come out with its new prepaid plans for the customers of Blackberry which will provide them an option to select from weekly and monthly plans with unlimited Email access and internet facilities.

These new prepaid plans will enable the Airtel Blackberry users to enjoy wide array of services including unlimited access to their Emails, social networking, Instant Messaging, Blackberry Messenger, Internet browsing and access to Blackberry AppWorld application store. These latest plans introduced by Airtel will come with an affordable price tags starting from Rs.100 a week to Rs.399 a month.

The plans will allow the users of Blackberry to have access up to 10 email accounts like Yahoo mail, Google Mail and Hotmail. The services of chat will be available on Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. More over the emails from multiple mail boxes can also be displayed in a single inbox and service also enables to view the attachments of emails.

Sri Lankan Mobile Call Charges objected by Bharti

India’s Bharti Airtel has submitted a petition in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka so as to put a halt on the minimum mobile phone price plan which is launched by the telecom regulator.

Due to the tough  competition which resulted into huge losses the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission has recently has fixed a floor price of 2 Sri Lankan Rupees per minute for the outgoing calls.

The mobile phones were launched in Sri Lanka in the year 1989 , and since then it was first time in the year 2009 that the phone operators has incurred a combined loss of 23 billion rupees which is around $200 million.

Sri Lanka is a 5 player mobile market with Bharti Airtel being the 5th entry and the company stated that the fixing of these floor prices are against the interest of the consumers.

While submitting its petition in the Sri Lankan Supreme Court, Airtel stated that these floor prices will only prove to be helpful for the leader of the market and will maintain the status quo at the consumer’s interest.

FaceBook Mobile site free for the Airtel subscribers

Bharti Airtel has recently stated that social networking site Facebook can be accessed by the Airtel subscribers on their mobile for free of cost for the next 2 months till 31st August. Airtel has entered into a partnership with the Facebook so that 130 million subscribers can log on to the full mobile site of Facebook at no data cost though their mobile phones.

Initially the Facebook mobile site will be available in Hindi and English along with 5 other languages including Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu which will follow by 15th of July 2010.

The Chief Marketing Officer, Mobile Services of Bharti Airtel, Shireesh Joshi stated that “Our mobile customers will also be the first in the world to enjoy Facebook on their Airtel mobile in five vernacular languages.”

The existing customer of Airtel mobile internet can avail the services immediately whereas the customers who are accessing the mobile internet for the first time will have to SMS, FACEBOOK to 54321 in order to avail the services.

Rural services launched by IMImobile with Airtel

IMI mobile which is a Hyderabad based value added service provider has recently announced that it will offer new service called Cell Shakti for the subscribers in rural areas.

This interactive voice response (IVR) based service will provide information on health care, weather, commodity price, education and basic information on law and order. The service will also provide content related to film and entertainment.

An amount of rupee 1 per day will be charged by the users for subscribing the service and the call charges will be decided by the operators. Till now, Airtel is not charging its users for this service.

The vice president, managed services of IMImobile, Madhavan Iyer stated that “The basic aim of Cell Shakti is to help overcome the information constraints of people living in tier two and tier three cities. We have partnered with various organizations including some government institutions for content”

This latest service is presently available in Tamil for the Airtel subscribers in Andhra Pradesh. It was also stated by Iyer that their company is in talks with other operators as well and will soon launch the service through them as well. Call Shakti will be launched in states like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Tamil Nadu and others.

Mobile Ad Platform of Navteq to be used by Zee Studio for Airtel

Navteq which is a Chicago based provider of maps, location and traffic data for location based services and mobile advertising has recently stated that Zee Studios, which is an English Movie Channel has tapped its mobile ad network so as to promote the upcoming movies among the mobile users of Airtel.

This service can be used after downloading a free application which will allow the mobile phone users to browse the scheduled film broadcasts of Zee Studio. After the download of the application, the consumers can click on the title of the movie to view their synopsis. The application will also allow the users to set the reminders for the movie which they want to see.

The vice president advertising of Navteq, Christopher Rothey, in a accompany statement said that “Navteq has a long history with Airtel. We know the power of mobile advertising and believe it can actually help enhance the user experience of a new generation of applications and products throughout India.”
