Nokia N9 Review

June 23, 2011

After the great success story of Nokia N8, Nokia mobiles have come out with another superb phone by the name of Nokia N9.This touchscreen phone comes in a great looking body as well as a bunch of impressive top class specifications

The 3.9 inch of TFT touchscreen is an AMOLED capacitive display which offers a resolution count of 480×854 pixels. The features associated with this screen are Gorilla glass, anti glare polariser and multi touch input methods. Talking about the camera, there comes an 8MP rear end camera which comes with dual LED flash and auto focus and geo tagging specifications. This camera can be compared with the camera of Samsung Galaxy S2 which is known for its superb camera.N9 is a fantastic device when it comes to the processor. The 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU is one of the best in the mobile market. The connectivity options offered are GPRS/EDGE, Wifi connectivity and WAP browser support along with Bluetooth, USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The music player is equipped with the Dolby mobile sound enhancement which makes the sound experience unmatchable and superior to that of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.The additional features offered are games like Angry Birds and Galaxy on fire 2, A-GPS navigation support and a 1GB RAM.

Nokia N9 has a 1450mAh battery which is not at all an inferior battery but on comparing it with the 1650mAh battery of Samsung i1900, this one seems a little left behind. Considering the 12 MP camera of Nokia N8, N9’s camera again seems to be of below expected standards. But these features do not pull Nokia N9 in any manner and is surely a great device.

Nokia C2-06 Review

Nokia mobiles have come out with yet another touch and type slider mobile phone which makes an entry into the C2 league models. This phone is known as Nokia C2-06 and is a dual GSM SIM phone that comes in a compact size and shape.

Like the other phones in the C2 league, this one too has got a 2.6 inch TFT touchscreen display which offers a resolution count of 240×320 pixels. This pixel count is superior to the content view offered by LG LX260.On sliding out the screen, there appears a numeric keypad with large keys that facilitate easy texting. As far as the internet browsing goes, Nokia C2-06 comes with support of options such as GPRS/EDGE and the WAP browser. Bluetooth, micro USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack are the other additional connectivity features offered. Talking about the memory specifications, this model comes along with a 2GB card as well as a microSD card slot facility which lets users expand the external memory space by as much as 32GB.The 1024mAh battery which has been fitted in lets users enjoy a talk time of 5 hours which makes this mobile phone better than Samsung Corby Pro and LG Cookie Pep.

There comes a 2 MP camera attached on the back side of this phone. This camera isn’t really a negative points as such but on comparing it with the camera of Karbonn K1000,one tends to feel a little unsure. The fact that the screen is resistive in nature can be another point of disappointment for a few users. Thus overall, Nokia C2-06 is a decent and acceptable phone even with the few of its negative points.

Samsung SHW-A300 Review

Samsung mobile have come out with another flip design phone which looks really sleek and stylish and at the same time have acceptable quality features and specifications. This device is known as Samsung SHW-A300 and is a simple model.

There comes a 2.6 inch display screen which is capable of offering the users with a clear content view. The size of this screen as well as its pixel count is better than that of Motorola Cupe. The keypad provided is alphanumeric in nature and has got very large and nicely embedded keys which facilitate really convenient texting. One of the special features about SHW-A300 is the fact that it comes with Hyperskin body that is useful in preventing the phone’s body from getting fingerprints and various kinds of scratches. This body makes this device look soft and stylish. The external memory space can be expanded by up to 16GB using the microSD card slot feature which has been provided by Samsung SHW-A300.The various connectivity options which has been made available for users are Bluetooth, USB port and GPRS as well as WAP browser for internet browsing. The audio features offered are a multi format music player and FM radio which are pretty good and of acceptable quality.

This phone comes with a 2MP camera attached on the rear side and isn’t an impressive aspect of this mobile phone because of the low pixel count offered. Even the fact that overall functionality and processing speed isn’t too good makes this phone a little less of a preferred choice. Samsung SHW-A300 is thus an ordinary and simple kind of a mobile model.

Motorola Triumph Review

June 22, 2011

Motorola Triumph is a mobile phone which can be considered as a device which falls into the mid category of high end phones. This is because of the fact that it consists of good features but not the greatest ones.

This device runs on the 2.2 version of the Android OS and is powered by a 1GHz processor which gives it good processing speed. There comes a 4.1 inch capacitive screen attached with Triumph which offers a resolution count of 480×800 pixels. This may not be the greatest screens out there but sure is better than the screen of HTC Desire. The 1400mAh battery which this phone is equipped with is a strong battery which manages to offer users with a talk time of 8.3 hours. The connectivity options provided are Bluetooth, USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack whereas the internet options which are supported by Motorola Triumph are GPRS/EDGE, Wifi and WAP browser. The microSD card slot lets users expand the external memory space by up to 32GB.Users can easily use the social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter and Picasa which are preinstalled with Motorola Triumph. The additional features provided are A-GPS navigation system and accelerometer and compass sensor.

The camera fitted on the rear end of Motorola Triumph is a 5MP camera which comes with LED flash facility. This camera is good but not as good as that of HTC Desire which comes for almost the same price. The sound quality too isn’t very impressive. But overall, Motorola Triumph makes for a phone worthy of the price.

Nokia C2-03 Review

Nokia mobiles have added another touchscreen phone to their league of touch devices. This phone is known as Nokia C2-03 and is a member of the Nokia’s C2 model range. It has got an interesting exterior which sure will attract a lot of users.

There comes a 2.6 inch touchscreen display which provides a resolution count of 240×320 pixels. This screen might not be too large or bulky but has got a pixel count and clarity better than that of Spice QT 50 which only provides QCIF type pixel count. This device is a dual SIM phone which consists of a numeric keypad beneath the slider touchscreen. The keypad is easy and convenient to use. The external memory space of this phone can be expanded by up to 32GB using the microSD card slot facility which too has been provided. Users can enjoy internet connectivity of Nokia C2-03 by using options such as GPRS/EDGE, Wifi support and WAP browser. Infact Facebook, Twitter and Flickr come preinstalled on it and hence prove useful for social networking lovers. The music player as well as the FM radio make for the sound options and are sources for good sound quality.

This mobile phone has got a resistive touchscreen which could be a major problem for a few users. The other problem is the 2MP camera which seems enough and acceptable at this price but on comparing it with the camera of Samsung Corby Pro, users definitely feel the need for more pixels. Otherwise, Nokia C2-03 is quite a good device with decent specs.

Motorola Photon 4G Review

Are you in search of a phone which transcends all the ordinary features in a mobile device and reaches ultimate level of greatness? Motorola Photon 4G might just be the right model for you. This full touchscreen device is an Android based phone which runs on the 2.3 version of the OS.

This mobile phone comes with a 4.3 inch capacitive display screen which offers an amazing resolution count of 540×960 pixels. This kind of a screen is comparable to Samsung Galaxy S2 which is a device known for its display. Motorola Photon 4G runs on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor which provides fast processing speed and smooth usability to the users. As far as the connectivity options are concerned, name it and you have it. This model supports GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Wifi and options such as micro USB, Bluetooth and a 3.5 mm audio jack .Attached on the rear end is an 8MP dual LED flash camera which offers an amazing resolution count. This camera makes Motorola 4G a better choice for photography enthusiasts than iPhone 4.Infact there is also a 0.3 MP camera fitted on the front side and helps to facilitate video calling. The 1700mAh battery is again a point which is superior to all the high end phones such as HTC Desire and Nokia N8.

There is nothing which this phone doesnt really equip users with. A few points which are a little less impressive as compared to other phones are the frontal camera pixel count and the audio quality which isn’t as rich as one would like to have. But having said that, Motorola Photon 4G is still a great mobile phone with exceptional features.

Nokia C2-02 Review

Nokia mobiles have come out with a slider form factor phone by the name of Nokia C2-02.This device falls into the affordable price range of Nokia mobiles and is equipped with decent and good quality specifications.

This phone is a touch and type kind of a phone which comes with a touchscreen as well as an alphanumeric keypad. There comes a 2.6 inch TFT display screen which offers 240×320 pixels and is better than that of Samsung Corby. Beneath the slider is a numeric keypad which has got really nicely embedded keys for long lasting usage. There are several internet options which can be used on C2-02.Some of these options are GPRS/EDGE and WAP browser. For social networking lovers, this phone makes for a great handset because of the fact that it comes along with inbuilt Facebook, Twitter and Picasa. The other connectivity options offered are Bluetooth, 3.5 mm audio jack and a micro USB port. Nokia C2-02 comes equipped with a 1020mAh battery which offers a talk time of about 5 hours. This battery makes this model much better and superior to phones like LG Cookie Max. Like other Nokia phones, this one too consists of a good multi format music player which is capable of providing a decent music experience.

There are a few drawbacks too which form part of Nokia C2-02.Firstly the 2 MP camera is one of the most ordinary cameras and doesnt match up to the standards of the camera of Samsung Duos 256.Even the pixel count makes images look blurred and unclear. Other than this, there is nothing worth mentioning or complaining in a huge way about Nokia C2-02.

Sony Ericsson ST 18i Urushi Review

Sony Ericsson ST18i is a mobile phone which is nicknamed as Urushi. This phone can be quite easily considered as the successor of the popular Sony Ericsson Arc as most of its features and even the looks seem to be borrowed from it.

This mobile phone comes in an attractive looking and sleek body which is 3.2 inch touchscreen display offering a whopping resolution count of 854×480 pixels. Such resolution count makes the small screen glow up and present an amazing content view which surely is better than that of HTC Desire. This superb looking phone is an Android 2.3 model and runs on a fantastic 1GHz Snapdragon chipset with a Scorpion CPU and an Adreno 205 GPU. Now this is something extraordinary and proves to provide excellent processing. Like Arc, this one too consists of an 8 MP camera with LED flash and auto focus feature. Videos can be recorded at 720 p on Urushi which is a feature that places it on top of Samsung Omnia 2.The internet connectivity options provided on this device are GPRS/EDGE, Wifi and WAP browser. Bluetooth, USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack are the other data sharing features offered.

There is no denying that the above mentioned features make it an excellent device. But the fact that the screen size is smaller in comparison to the high end phones like iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy can be a point of reconsideration for a few people out there. Even the sound could have been worked on just a little bit. But as said before, there is nothing that can take the credit away from Sony Ericsson ST18i which is a superb device.

Samsung SGH-t528g Review

Samsung SGH-t528g is a mobile phone launched by Samsung mobiles and is a phone which comes in a touchscreen display. The curved edges and the black body makes this device looks soft and decent.

This mobile phone is equipped with a 3 inch touchscreen display which has been powered by the TouchWiz 2.0 user interface for smooth functioning. This screen also consists of three scrollable workspaces. One can easily judge the fact that this screen is quite better than that of Motorola Greco. From the connectivity point of view, SGH-T528g supports 3G as well as is capable of allowing users to use the Wifi internet connection. People can have access to social networking websites instantly and also make use of GPRS and WAP browser support. Bluetooth, micro USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack make for the other connectivity options which enable data sharing and transferring from this phone to others. Samsung SGH-t528g also comes along with the microSD card facility which helps users to expand the external memory space. The music player supports formats like MP3, AAC, AMR, WAC and MIDI and is capable of a pretty good sound quality production.

This device comes attached with a 2 MP camera on the rear end. This camera produces decent quality images but fails to stand a chance in comparison with camera phones like Micromax A60 which consists of a 3.2 MP camera. Even the battery could have been worked upon to bring it alongside phones such as Karbonn K1000.Thus overall, Samsung SGH-t528g does a good job but there is still scope for a lot of improvement.

Samsung Indulge SCH-R915 Review

Samsung mobiles have come out with another touchbar phone known as Samsung Indulge SCH-R915.It seems like Samsung has given in a lot of thought and named this phone aptly as with all the good features, the users definitely ‘indulge’ themselves with this model. This phone runs on the Android 2.2 OS.

This mobile phone is a slider form factor device which has got a QWERTY keypad beneath the touchscreen on the top. This keypad has got pretty nicely embedded keys for easy texting. The screen is 3.5 inch in size and is capacitive in nature along with offering a great pixel count with 320×480 pixels. On comparing with HTC P3400, Indulge definitely fairs better as far as the screen is concerned. One of the most impressive features of this mobile phone is its Single Core Hummingbird 1000MHz processor which provides a good processing speed and better than that of Motorola A810.Infact surprisingly, the 1500mAh battery which comes along is another great feature associated with SCH-R915.All internet connectivity options including GPRS/EDGE, WAP browser and Wifi can be used on this model along with other options like Bluetooth, USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Like most Samsung phones, this one too comes with a great sound experience to offer.

The 3 MP camera fitted on the rear side is one of the most ordinary features. It doesnt really impress when compared with all the other superiors specifications of this device. Infact the fact that this phone runs on the CDMA network could also limit the number of users it will get. But these features do not really hamper the positive qualities of Samsung Indulge SCH-R915which make it a good product.
