Independence day recharge- from MTNL!

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd recently announced that they have launched ‘Independence Day Recharge Vouchers’ for their ‘Trump’ prepaid service subscribers(2G and 3G), in remembrance of the 64th independence day, only within the Delhi telecom circle. This service is not available in any other part of India except, the capital, Delhi.

MTNL launches 2 ‘Independence Day’ special top-ups or recharge coupons, priced at Rs. 64 and Rs. 1508 respectively. Clearly, RCV-64 stands for the 64thIndian Independence Day whereas RCV-1508 stands for 15th august.

As for other details, the Rs.64 coupon allows you to enjoy a full talk time of Rs.64 while the other coupon, that of Rs.1508, will provide you with a hyper talk time of Rs.1947 as the main phone balance. Seriously, MTNL has really impressed us with its performance-saying no to tariff hike- and now, for introducing some really interesting pocket friendly data plans for 3G users.

The very first 3G mobile service provider of apna India, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd has come up with 3 new 3G prepaid data plans for the Mumbai people. It was really a bolt from the blue when after launching the long validity data plans, MTNL brought out the super cheap 3G data plan of Rs. 22 that would give you a whooping 250 MB usage (enough for Rs.22!!) along with 50 SMS. This plan will be valid for 7 days.

The other plans- plan 449 will offer 25GB data along with 150 SMS. This will also be valid for 7 days. In addition to that, plan 1199 can fetch you 6GB data along with 350 SMS. This is a long validity plan applicable for 90 days.

While 3G Data Plan-499 offers 25 GB Data usage and 150 SMS valid for 7 Days. MTNL also introduces one long validity limited plan for Rs. 1199 which offers 6 GB Data usage, 350 SMS and comes with the validity of 90 Days.The 3G Data Plans are launched initially in MTNL’s On-line Recharges System and subsequently it may be extended through paper coupon.

Vodafone and Idea increased tariff rates by 20%!

We expected this, didn’t we? When Airtel and Docomo increased their tariff rates, we were expecting that the others are also going to join the gang soon! And they did. Now the latest update states that- finally, Vodafone and Idea cellular did the same.

Some selected circles are going to receive the shock as of now. For Idea users in Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, Kerala, and Gujarat per second call charge will be 1.2p/sec. while the STD and local SMS will be charged at Rs.1.5 for only Gujarat and Rs 1 for other circles.

From 22 circles, 12 circles of Vodafone will get the same treatment as Idea. But in circles like Haryana, UP east and west, Gujarat, Maharashtra & Goa, Rajasthan and Kerala STD charges will be 1.5 paisa per second. In 5 circles Delhi, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu the call rates to other networks as well as STD charges will be 1.2 paisa per second.
