Apple does not agree to include iPhone in the O2s green ranking scheme

It has been recently reported that Apple has refused to include its iPhone in the first green ranking scheme for the handsets conducted by UK. This scheme will provide a ranking from 0 to 5 to the mobile phones and this ranking will be based on the environmental credentials of the handsets.
Other major mobile manufacturers like Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson has got ready to participate in the scheme and get a ranking for their handsets. The spokesperson of Apple did not commented anything as to why they have not agreed to participate in this voluntary labelling scheme.
This latest green scheme has been launched in partnership with the Forum for the Future. Various factors will be considered while accessing the handsets and these will include environmental aspect of the raw material, packaging, manufacturing processes, ease to recycles and energy efficiency.
