Chinese phone company Gionee is all set to launch “world’s thinnest” smartphone Elife S5.5 in the country. Gionee Elife boasts of thickness of about just 5.5mm because of which the maker claims it to be the world’s slimmest phone.
While the company is yet to announce the price of the device, the price in china is CNY 2,299 (approx. Rs. 23500/-). Gionee claims this will be a very big launch in India. The event is scheduled for March 30 and 31 in Goa.
The Elife S5.5 has premium specs as well as ultra-portability. It features a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, the only non Samsung mobile phone to contain this feature. It comes packed with a octa-core 1.7 GHz processor expected to deliver top notch performance and keeping in pace with the trend of octa-core. The chipset has not yet been declared.
The device features a 5 megapixel front-facing camera and a 13 megapixel rear snapper. It runs on Gionee’s Amigo OS, a heavy skinned version of Android, which adds to it some interesting standard Android screen, home screens and few shortcuts. It also supports 3G networks which works under six different bands.
