There is good news for all the users of Samsung Galaxy SII mobile phone as the company has announced Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the phone. This update can be done on Samsung SII GT-I9100G phone which comes packed with Texas Instrument chipset and has different internal hardware when compared with Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100. The Texas chipset offers better talk time as compared to the Exynos processor that comes along with regular Samsung SII models.
The new phone will feature dual core 1.2 GHz of Texas Instrument OMAP processor along with PowerVR SGX540 graphics chip. Looking externally one cannot find out the difference between the models as both look same.
The users can manually check their phone so as to see that whether their model has been hit by the ICS update and this can be done by checking through the system update option of the setting applications.
Another way of checking is by connecting the phone to the Samsung Kies software PC or a Mac and then get the update. The update for the model is available in various countries but the users of India will have to wait for a period of around a week or two to get the update.
