Research in Motion opens its first Indonesia Office

Research in Motion has recently made an announcement about the opening of its first office in Indonesia which is one of the largest economy in the region of South East Asia. RIM is positive about getting good business in the area.
At the opening ceremony of the Indonesia Office, the President Director of PT RIM Indonesia, Andrew Cobham stated that the company will open around 36 authorized customer care centres in the country by the end of year 2010.
As per the International Data Corporation, the shipment of Blackberry devices in Indonesia in the 2nd quarter of the year saw a rise of 79% and it is expected by the company that the shipment will increase by 56.5% as compared to the last year.
The success of Research in Motion in Indonesia was affected by the decision of the country’s Government which stated that if Blackberry makers will not open its customer care service centres and build its data services in the country their services will be banned.
