Micromax GC700 Review
July 14, 2010
While the looks may stun you, the price may add to the surprises. The Micromax GC700 promises a lot, but it does not deliver a single bit of it. It’s a dual SIM phone but at the same time one of them is a CDMA. So you are actually left with a single choice about your provider.
The phone is bar shaped and the finishing is quite good. It has got a 2 mega pixel camera supporting 4x zoom. The motion sensor touch screen will intimidate you at the first look. The software comes pre-installed with Opera mini browser so that you get a functional GPRS feature. The micro SD card/trans flash slot supports up to 8 GB of memory so you can load your phone as you wish. Almost all the types of music formats are playable. Also you get a video recording facility.
These were the general specifications but once the phone gets into your pocket for a month or two, you would come to know that it’s a junk piece. The phone hangs a lot and the motion sensor and touch screen functionality tends to get sloppy.
Given the price range, there are several other better phones in the market that do promise and deliver. For instance LG’s cookie Pep. Now this one is a stunning phone both in looks and functionality. You just have every feature just rightly balanced into it. Also come the Nokia 5230 and Nokia 5233 within the price range and are definitely better phones. Thus Micromax GC700 comes with decent features but there are better options to this handset.
