In the month of June, 12.29 million GSM subscribers added- COAI

The Cellular Operators Association (COAI) has recently come out with its report which stated that in the month of June 12.29 million new GSM subscribers were added to the telecom Industry. With this additional number, the total number of GSM subscribers in India has reached to a big number of 456.58 million.
The top most GSM operator in India, Bharti Airtel was able to make 3 million additional users in the month of June which raised their total base to 136.6 million. After making new additions in June, Bharti Airtel was still the number one player and had 29.92% of the market share.
Next Vodafone was able to register 2.71 million additional subscribers which took their total number to 109 million with total market share of 23.89%.
Idea Cellular was able to add 2.15 million users whereas 1.6 million subscribers were added by Aircel. The BSNL and MTNL were successful in adding 1.09 and 44,413 subscribers respectively.
The growing number of GSM subscribers in the country shows that Indian telecom market is growing very rapidly.
