Survey reveals that 30% of Indian youth use their mobile phone for social networking

Indiabiz News and Research Services( INRS) has recently conducted a social media survey which reveals that 30% of the youth in India use their mobile phones to access social networking sites. The survey covered a base of 350 respondents from the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata.

In terms of usage, Facebook has the top spot and the survey also revealed the popularity of various micro blogging sites like Twitter which is limited to celebrities and Linkedin that has a greater following. The votes which were given by the users in the favor of Linkedin were 45.8%, YouTube was 36.5% and Twitter was 29.6%.

Around 63% of the people who took the poll have never engaged themselves with groups, communities and fan pages on the social networking sites. Among these 11% have joined the networking sites on the recommendation of their friends.

Another statistics revealed by the survey stated that around 37% of the respondents belong to the age group of 26 to 330 years and 35% of them were professionals in mid level jobs.
