June 2, 2010
Samsung Corby is a full touch screen phone which comes in two bright colors and is mainly aimed at the young generation who are more addicted to social networking and prefers to remain connected while on the go.
The phone is often pitted against Nokia 5233, which has a 3.2 inch touch screen compared to the 2.8 touch screen of Samsung Corby. Nokia 5233 comes with an accelerometer, handwriting recognition software and proximity sensor and runs on a Symbian platform. Though Samsung Corby lacks all these features, but applications of Samsung Corby is pretty well justified by its price and its target level customers.
The camera of Samsung Corby is of 2MP with five shoot modes and 4X digital Zoom that is capable of producing images with resolution of 1600 X 1200 pixels. This phone records video at 15 frames per second .As far as the music player of Samsung Corby is concerned it comes with a 3D sound technology and an FM radio with RDS. The standard Li-ion 960 mAh battery of the phone provides talktime of around 9 hours and standby time of 730 hours.
The closet competitor of Samsung Corby is Samsung S5230 star that comes with a Wi-Fi feature and a 3 Mp camera. Though Samsung Corby lacks a number of features it’s quite irresistible to the younger generation. Its interchangeable color and bright exterior coupled with a low price tag and excellent browsing facilities has surely helped it to create its own market among youngsters in spite of heavy competition from advanced mobiles from other companies.
