Nokia N97 Mini Review
June 25, 2010
Another fantastic touchscreen ace by Nokia is N97 Mini. It is a smaller version of the Nokia N97 but comes with more features. Rightly said with Nokia N97 Mini, less is more. It is a welcome change for those who require a lighter version of the N97 which was atrociously heavy both for the hands and the pocket. This smart phone with a QWERTY side-slider is a class apart from most touchscreen phones. It is an amazing touch experience because of the metallic battery cover which is absent in the original N97 and the screen touch is better than N97. The resistive touch screen is at par with the performance of Pixon12 or the Samsung Jet.
The image quality remains the same as that of the N97. Due to the small size the resolution and the colors look sharper and better though. However the Samsung AMOLED would get a warm welcome if Nokia introduces the same in their technology. The video call and the earpiece are also fantastic in the Mini.
The 5 megapixel camera looks good but the performance could definitely be improved. The consolation comes from the features like dual LED flash and video light
The features like GEO-tagging, the Symbian technology, GPRS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth makes it a complete package for a smart phone. Because the microSD is located under the battery it becomes difficult to remove the cover and use it all the time. Being a shorter sibling of the N97 this mobile phone is a good change for Nokia N97 users.
