Nokia 5230 Review

June 28, 2010

The touch screens rule. Checkout the various smart phones the Big Brands in the market have launched. The Nokia 5230 is a smart phone too. However, it is a smart phone for the masses. A full touch screen phone with various features that you may need, what else are you looking forward to? The Nokia 5530 Xpress music rocked the mobile phone market and now the 520 has come to overtake it. Choosing between 5530 and 5230 means choosing between the Wi-Fi and 3G technology and the GPS.

The best part of the phone is that it offers voice guide navigation through Ovi maps and also free maps. This phone also offers 3G and good call quality. And all this is available at an affordable price. With similar looks to the 5800 the 5230 is a heavier phone but it does not restrict the phone from having a compact look and feel within the palms too. It looks hardy and not fragile.

The grip may not be the easiest considering that the phone has a back cover which is a little slick. The handset has an urban feel to it. These phones, namely 5800 and 5230 require the stylus to push the SIM out. The latter does not have a stylus makes it a little difficult to push out the SIM. Again, you do not get a data cable either. So how do you transfer your snaps and videos to the computer?

The sunlight legibility is not up to the mark either. You do not get the Wi-Fi support, no smart dialing, no office document viewer; the loudspeaker is poor and poor sunlight legibility. The decision, however, to buy this phone, remains with you.
