Gemini Comm. buys Rosy Blue Wireless of Africa

A Chennai based network integration and telecom company, Gemini Communications has buyed the Africa’s Rosy Blue Wireless (RBW). Though no official announcement on the value of the deal has been made but it is expected to be around $20 million.
Rosy Blue Wireless is Africa’s telecom and internet service provider company which provides WiMax in the country. The company also has 60% share in a group of Joint Venture (JV) companies in Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique. The balance stakes of these companies are held by local partners. These Joint Venture companies are called Morse Communications.
As per Gemini Comm. RBW has an advantage of WiMax spectrum which can help to leverage the untapped market of broadband in Africa which is quite vast. It is observed as a huge opportunity by the company and they also look forward to introduce the other business in the geography. Gemini Communications along with its fully owned subsidiary company Pointred telecom is a player in the WiMax space.
