3G: The next gen wireless mobile communication
May 23, 2010
After the recent auction of 3G spectrum Indian mobile telecom market is on the verge of introducing 3G – third generation telecommunications service. The state-run Telco’s, BSNL and MTNL have already offered 3G service and the private operators are more likely to begin with their operations by the end of this year.
Though some countries are preparing to the launch the latest 4G services, this much hyped introduction of 3G services in India is being acknowledged with jubilation for moving a step further towards a more superior telecommunication technology.
The 3G technology is a more developed platform for wireless mobile communication beside the currently deployed 2G wireless technology by Telco’s in India. The 3G technology takes advantage of the spectrum (airwaves or frequency) more powerfully than the 2G technology. Hence the users get more enhanced services.
3G technology will allow the access to high speed internet connection, faster data and text transfer, superior voice functions along with added facilities such as multi-media messaging services, video stream, video-calling, video-conferencing, customized location-based services, mobile TV, etc.
