The survey conducted by CareerBuilder may prove to be interesting for the readers but can be quite scary for the employers of the mobile workers as it reveals that more than 50% of the mobile workers use their smartphones to check their emails and do other tasks while driving for their business.
The survey was done in November 2009 on 5200 mobile workers (these are the people who primarily work on the roads) and majority of the respondents admitted to be engaged in dangerous behavior that can put them, their vehicle as well as company at risk.
The survey also broke down the percentage by profession and find out that sales workers are the worst ones and occupies 66% of the total number. The shocking revelation came from the health care workers where 50% of them admitted using their smartphones in the car. Various different reasons were quoted by these people for engaging in such risky behavior like employees demand, tough economy, constant job performance and many others.
