The custom OS of this Nokia E71 look alike seamlessly integrates Facebook (including contacts, along with profile pictures and status’) and Twitter. Skype, a multi-platform IM client and push e-mail (Hotmail and Yahoo) are also supported.

If it were a dual SIM handset, the iNQ Chat 3G might have given the other dual SIM QWERTY cell phones a run for their money. However, the pricing (at Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 7,499, in Maharashtra and the rest of India, respectively) might prove to be a damper to sales.

The key aspect on which sales will hinge is whether it is ‘locked’ or not – ie. will it work with service providers other than Aircel. With MTNL having extended the free trial of their ’3G Jadoo’ service, customers might be inclined to pair the two to get the benefit of BWA (broadband wireless access) straight away.

The unofficial specs I saw included – GPRS Class 10, EDGE Class 10, 3G, 3.15 MP camera with autofocus, GPS/browser support, etc., which is on par with higher priced handsets. Quality of the display and stand-by/talk time (which will be evident when tested) will also be factors in deciding its popularity.

Aircel’s introductory offer at Rs. 251 gives internet browsing (upto 2GB/month) and 150 local Aircel to Aircel minutes – both for 3 months.
