Apple has recently stated that they have sold 1.7 million units of its latest iPhone 4 in just 3 days since the day when handset went on for sale. The Chief Executive of Apple, Steve Jobs stated that the debut of the iPhone 4 was the most successful product launch in the history of Apple.

Last year when Apple iPhone 3GS smart phone was launched the company was able to sell 1 million units in its first 3 days. The sale of Apple iPhone 4 in UK, US, Germany and France was started on Thursday and many of the stores have run out of stock. No indication has been given by Apple as to when the supplies will catch up.

Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar has previously estimated that the firm will need to produce around 4 million units in a month in order to hit the target and it was also cautioned that it will miss due to the shortage of Retina displays.

The pre-orders for iPhone 4 was opened in US by AT&T and Apple on 15^th of June but all the 600,000 units of the iPhone 4 which were available in the stock were sold by the end of the same day.

Lemon Mobile, which is an Indian mobile phone company, is known for launching wide variety of low end mobile phones but this time company has decided to come out with its dual SIM handset which will based on Android Platform. This handset will be the first of its kind which will allow the users to enjoy Android platform along with functionality of Dual SIM.

The product head of Lemon Mobiles, Rohit Arora in a press conference stated that the company will be starting with the Android 1.6 in the coming days. Some of the features which will be loaded in this Lemon mobile were also revealed by Arora and they included push mail facility, 400MHz and he also mentioned that the handset will be named as “P1” where P will stand for professional.

Further information regarding the features of the handset was not given but it was stated that the company will try to offer some inventive features and that too at an affordable price tag and will launch $300 million globally according to their plan.

MTNL will spend an amount around Rs.400 crore in order to provide high speed internet access at all the venues of the upcoming Commonwealth Games. It was stated by MTNL that 3 interconnected networks for security, broadcasting and data will also be implemented by them.

The minister of State for Communications and Information Technology, Sachin Pilot said that “All works are in advanced stages of implementation and will be completed well in time before the commencement of the games.”

Works worth Rs.85 crore is also being executed by Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) for the supply and installation of network switches at different venues. These switches will be linked up for the transmission of games and security data.

The supply and installation of computers at the games venue will also be handled by TCIL.

Moreover it will also build an Intra Stadia Optical Fibre Network in order to transport these signals and to take care of the supply and the installation of office automation and audio visual equipments for the games.

In order to improve the services of telecom and to make the tariff plans easier to understand the telecom regulator, TRAI will now audit the Quality of telecom services quarterly instead of annually.

A senior TRAI official stated that “From July this year, we shall be doing quarterly audit. Till now, every three months the service providers submit data on defined parameters of Quality of Service but audit was done annually by TRAI.”

This step by TRAI will put the pressure on service providers so as to constantly upgrade their networks and swiftly render the complaints of subscribers.

TRAI is also planning to simplify the tariff plan literatures which are offered by the operators because the subscribers do not get the correct information regarding the hidden costs and the benefits of different plans.

Moreover a web based “Telecom Consumer Grievances Monitoring Systems” will also be launched by 15^th of July this year which will enable the customers to lodge their complaints and monitor their redressal on the web through internet.
